Fiorentina contacted agent Gennaro Gattuso

Fiorentina has contacted a spokesman for Napoli head coach Gennaro Gattuso, Football Italia reports.

According to the source, Fiorentina’s president Rocco Komisso contacted Gattuso’s agent to assess the possible appointment of a specialist to the post of head coach.

Earlier it was reported that Napoli may part with Gattuso at the end of the current season.

Gattuso was appointed head coach of the Neapolitans in December 2019. The contractual agreement of the specialist with the club is calculated until 2021. In June 2020, Napoli won the Italian Cup. In the current championship in Italy, after 24 matches, Gattuso’s wards are in sixth place with 44 points.

Fiorentina, in turn, is currently headed by Cesare Prandelli. After 25 matches, the team is in 14th place with 25 points.

ESPN led the charge in trying to bring Bayless back to its network. The 69-year-old analyst had previously worked with Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s “First Take” before Bayless left to join Fox Sports. Max Kellerman replaced Bayless alongside Smith, but the show hasn’t been the same since Bayless’ departure.

Bayless turned down ESPN last year to stick with Fox Sports. We now know why. Bayless reportedly inked a new contract with the network that will pay him around $8 million a year.

ESPN and Fox Sports must know something the general sports population doesn’t, because most sports fans despise Skip Bayless.

Regardless, these networks must believe he has high value considering a bidding war took place for the 69-year-old.

Tom Brady’s upcoming, offseason surgery might be more serious than initial reports led on to believe.

A source told the Boston Globe on Thursday that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback and reigning Super Bowl MVP will require “more than just a little clean-up” unlike earlier reports that called the surgery on his knee minor.

“When it comes out, all this does is build his legend even greater,” the source said.

The comment raised questions as to the severity of the injury. Sources told ESPN that the injury was not recent and Brady had been planning the procedure for months, despite not ever being listed on the injury report all season.

He was pictured wearing a brace on his left during the Bucs’ celebratory boat parade on Wednesday.

Brady, who just completed his first season in Tampa, led the Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl title since 2002. In the big game, Brady completed 21 of 29 passes for 201 yards with three touchdowns as the Bucs rolled to a dominating 31-9 victory over Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

He finished the regular season with 4,633 passing yards, 40 touchdowns, and only 12 interceptions.
